Prisoner of the Mountains

This devastating drama, based loosely on Tolstoy's Prisoner of the Caucsus, tells of two Russian soldiers captured by Chechen rebels and held in an impoverished mountain-top village. Powerful, superbly acted, and some say this film helped bring an end to the conflict in Chechnya.
