Soylent Green
This frighteningly prescient sci-fi tale about the dangers of the "greenhouse effect" was made long before the term became a popular buzzword. Charlton Heston plays a hardened New York cop who stumbles onto the secret of Soylent Green, a nutritional wafer used to feed the masses. Edward D Robinson is excellent in his final role as Heston's aging roommate who can remember the halcyon days of Earth when it was still green.
