Planet of the Apes
The original, classic sci-fi film based on Pierre Boulle's novel "Monkey Planet" stars Charlton Heston as Taylor, an astronaut who ends up stranded on a planet where apes are the rulers and humans are slaves. Followed by four sequels and two tv series' (one being animated). Re-imagined by Tim Burton in 2001.
