The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Czech author Milan Kundera's novel has been transferred to film by director Philip Kaufman ('The Right Stuff', 'Henry And June'). The emphasis is less on the philosophic debates of love and life and more on epic visualisation of passion and revolution. With Englishman Daniel Day-Lewis as the doctor with two life long loves to choose from - French actress Juliette Binoche and Swedish actress Lena Olin. This polyglot cast are supposed to be all Czechs in this English language version that uses hats and mirrors as sexual aides.
