When Night Is Falling
From the director of 'I've Heard the Mermaids Singing' comes this refreshingly liberating tale of lesbian love. Camille (Pascale Bussieres) is a Christian academician romantically involved with Martin (Henry Czerny), a nice enough fellow teacher more interested in advancement than romance. Camille's repressed emotions and desire for true love come to the surface after she meets flamboyant circus performer Petra (Rachael Crawford). Despite being diametrical opposites, the two are attracted to each other. The handling of the relationship is both exciting and hopeful, conditions that are much too rare in the typical film that tackles queer love.
