Wolfen

Detective Albert Finney tracks mysterious beasts that are terrorising N.Y.C. Surreal, allegorical mystery is satisfying - and could have been great. Gregory Hines stands out as a coroner. Gerry Fisher's ingenious cinematography is also noteworthy. Based on the book by Whitley Strieber ('The Hunger'). This was director Michael Wadleigh's one and only fiction film, he also previously helmed the acclaimed music documentary 'Woodstock'.
