Disney's updating of their 1940 mixture of classical music and spectacular animation features the original "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" along with seven new episodes. Among them: "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", featuring Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2; Donald Duck in a Noah's Ark tale set to "Pomp and Circumstance"; a yo-yo obsessed pink flamingo sequence for Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals"; Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", represented by animation in the style of artist Al Hirschfeld; and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth are celebrated in Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite". Hosts include James Earl Jones, Steve Martin, Penn and Teller, and Bette Midler.
