The Cup

Filmed in the central Asian country of Bhutan and directed by Khyentse Norbu (recognised by Buddhists as an incarnation of a 19th century Tibetan saint), this warm and winning story tells of a teenage monk-in-training in India who is obsessed with soccer. After getting in trouble for watching the World Cup games on TV, the young man and his fellow students concoct a scheme to bring the games inside the monastery walls. Jamyang Lodro and Neten Chokling lead the incredible cast of non-professionals.
