Not One Less

Follow the adventures of a 13 year old girl who, despite her age, finds herself working as a substitute teacher in the school of her small Chinese village. Trying to fulfil her promise of keeping all of the students in school, she leaves her rural province and sets off on a crusade to the big city to bring back one of her 10 year old pupils, who was forced to leave and find work to help his impoverished family. Filmed entirely on location in China, "Not One Less" is a modern day fable with an honesty that will move you. It's the simple but amazing story of a young woman's transformation from substitute teacher to leader.
