Shaft
This updating of the 1971 hit stars Samuel L Jackson as original "Shaft" Richard Roundtree's nephew, an NYPD detective who throws away his badge in order to capture a rich creep responsible for killing a black teen in front of a trendy New York restaurant. Christian Bale, Toni Collette, Jeffrey Wright, Vanessa Williams and Richard Roundtree also star in this retro-actioner from director John Singleton ("Boyz N the Hood").
