Set in the north of England, young Vic gets Ingrid pregnant, but being no Saturday Night and Sunday Morning tearaway, he does the right thing by her. They marry, but find that it wasn't love after all and we're left with two youngsters desperately trying to adjust to each other - to find 'a kind of loving'.
