The Luzhin Defence

From a novel by Vladimir Nabokov comes this intriguing film that has John Turturro as a Russian chess master attending a world tournament in 1920's Italy. While there he falls in love with Luzhin (Emily Watson), but this introvert is not equipped to deal with such a situation, as chess for him is not just a game but an obsession.
