Behind the Sun

Walter Salles ("Central Station") helmed this powerful drama set in the Brazilian badlands in 1910, where a feud between two families boils over into murderous territory. Tonho, middle brother of the sugar cane raising Breve family, must avenge the death of his older sibling, who was gunned down by a member of the Ferreiras, a prosperous cattle raising clan. The role of new technology, a pair of travelling performers and Tonho's difficult decision about the price of revenge play parts in this compelling effort. With Rodrigo Santoro and Ravi Ramos Lacerda.
