'Bollywood' films traditionally have been made to a particular list of criteria. They are long, usually around three hours, they all contain musical numbers, they tend to cross genre, containing elements of drama, comedy, action and romance. And, traditionally, there's no kissing! Western influences are beginning to see a more modern and realistic approach being adopted but essentially these films are made for Indian audiences who watch them many times over, singing along with the actors, cheering and booing from their seats.
