Dr. Siddharth Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) is a heart surgeon raising funds to turn his small hospital into a state-of-the-art medical facility. Dr. Akash Sinha (Anil Kapoor), a respected neurosurgeon, is equally devoted to realising his father's dream. Anesthetist Neha Mathur (Gracy Singh) joins the hospital as an assistant to Akash, and soon their working relationship blossoms into love with every surgery they perform together. Enter Soniya Kapoor (Preity Zinta), spoilt daughter of business tycoon Gulshan Kapoor (Randhir Kapoor), who falls for Akash and wants to marry him. To fulfill his daughter's wish, Gulshan Kapoor proposes to finance the hospital project on the condition that Akash marries her daughter. Siddharth Sinha, already in poor health, rejects the deal but suddenly passes away, leaving Akash in control of the hospital. Now, Akash must fulfill his father's dream, but can he sacrifice his love for Neha?
