Anita and Me

Growing up in a tiny English mining village in the 70's would be hard for any kid, let alone the precocious only daughter of a newly immigrated Punjabi family. When Meena meets Anita, 14, blonde, beautiful, aloof and sassy - everything 12yr old Meena wants to be - she's torn between being the person she dreams of and being 'a good little Indian girl' to make her parents proud. Based on the best-selling novel by Meera Syal (who also stars), "Anita and Me" is an hilarious and insightful story of discovery, loyalty and the mysteries of friendship.
