The Grudge
Aka 'Ju-on'. Japanese legend has it that a man who dies in a fit of rage leaves behind a malevolent presence that nests in his home; a contaminant that plagues all those that come in contact with it. When volunteer home-care worker Rika calls on the house of an old lady in what seems a routine job, she investigates a strange noise from an upstairs cupboard, fainting when a small ghostlike boy emerges. Moving forward and backward in time, a chilling series of events slowly unfolds. Vengeance from beyond the grave could be the grudge that no one can stop! Director Takashi Shimizu remade his film in English in 2004 with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead.
