One Hundred Steps

Aka "I Cento Passi". An explosive story of betrayal, murder and intrigue, revolving around one Mafia family. The Impastatos live in Cinisi, a small Sicilian village that is an important crossroads for drug trafficking. For years the family patriarch Luigi, has supported his family by working for Tano Badalamenti, the Mafia chieftain who controls the local drug trade and lives only one hundred steps from the Impastato household. Luigi Impastato's adolescent son Peppino is rapidly becoming an outspoken critic of his father's employers. He refuses to walk those steps. Taking his battle into the public arena, Peppino opens a private radio station with his friends where he openly criticises Tano Badalamenti. He also decides to stand in the council elections, with the aim of bringing his fight directly to the town hall. Peppino's rebellion proves unacceptable to Cinisi's tightly knit Mafia stronghold, and sets off a chain of escalating violence which threatens to destroy the family.
