Pieces of April
This intelligent and touching independent comedy stars Katie Holmes as a young woman who attempts to reconcile with her dysfunctional family by making a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for them at her cramped Manhattan apartment. Between problems with cooking the turkey and keeping domineering, ill mother Patricia Clarkson, sad sack father Oliver Platt, and the rest of her clan happy, Holmes has her work cut out for her. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
