Dirty Pretty Things

The sometimes harrowing life of London's immigrant population is the focus of director Stephen Frears' engrossing drama. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a doctor who fled his native Nigeria and, while working as a cab driver and hotel night clerk, uncovers an organ-buying black market preying on illegal immigrants. Ejiofor faces a moral dilemma when the ring offers him the chance to become their "surgeon" and earn a passport and a chance at a new life. Sergi Lopez, Benedict Wong, and Audrey Tautou also star.
