Luther

Joseph Fiennes delivers a fine performance in the title role of this affecting religious biodrama. When the Pope orders his priests to sell absolution in order to fund the construction of St. Peter's Basilica, the rebellious and dedicated German monk Martin Luther speaks out against the corruption, an act that would see him exiled from the Catholic Church.
