The Scarlet Tunic

A romantic re-working of a Thomas Hardy short story (The Melancholy Hussar) with a tale of doomed love and passion set in the beauty of Dorset. Deserting German hussar, Matthaus Singer (Jean-Marc Barr - The Big Blue, Le Divorce), falls madly in love with solicitor's daughter Frances Groves (Emma Fielding - Pandaemonium, Shooters) whereby she is torn between her duty and her desire. Frances' father Edward (Jack Shepherd - Wycliffe, Charlotte Gray) would prefer her to marry the weasly suitor Humphrey, played with squirm inducing sleaze by John Sessions (Gangs Of New York). The passion flows but will the heart be stronger than the outside forces set on keeping the lovers apart?
