Korea's leading filmmaker, Kang Je-gyu, wrote and directed this epic-scale drama focussed on two brothers forced into the war that tore their nation apart in the early 1950s. One gets caught up in the glory while the other recoils from the blood and chaos. 'Brotherhood' is the most successful Korean film to date, breaking box office records and garnering many awards. The Korean title, Tae Guk Gi refers to the South Korean flag, banned under Japanese rule and restored with pride in 1948.
