Aspiring (and rival) marathon runners Jun-shik (Dong-gun Jang) and Tatsuo (Jo Odagiri) must put their dreams of glory on hold when they are conscripted into the Japanese army to fight in World War II. In this gripping Korean drama inspired by a true story, the two competitors are forced to rely upon one another as they enter the battlefield, get captured by the Soviets, and escape - only to become prisoners of the Germans.
