Ron Howard directs the inspiring true story of James 'the Bulldog' Braddock, a promising light heavyweight boxer whose career was cut short by injury and the 1929 depression. Years working on the docks produced a left hook that would ensure a comeback to the ring and earn him adoration from a weary, joy-starved public. Russell Crowe was made for this role and the supporting cast (including Renee Zellweger and Paul Giamati) is excellent.
