Homeboy

Before he was "The Wrestler," Mickey Rourke stepped into another type of fighting ring in this hard-hitting drama, which he also scripted. Rourke stars as a washed-up club boxer who finally gets a shot at a top middleweight contender, only to have a sleazy promoter (Christopher Walken) encourage him to keep fighting while not telling him that one more punch could wind up killing him. Debra Feuer co-stars; music by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen. Sole directing credit for acclaimed Kiwi cinematographer Michael Seresin ("Sleeping Dogs", "Angel Heart"), who also has a sideline in NZ wine.
