Pill-popping maverick Doctor House (Hugh Laurie) specializes in infectious diseases, sarcasm and solving puzzling medical cases that come his way in this wry drama series from co-creator Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects). Laurie auditioned for the part via tape shot in a hotel room in Namibia while filming 'Flight of the Phoenix'; Singer, unaware he was a Brit, thought he was the perfect American for the part.
