Buried Alive: Sydney 1788-1792

A fascinating documentary tracing the first five years of European settlement in Sydney. Through journals, letters home and diaries, the daily lives of people discarded by their home country, banished to the other side of the world, are revealed. As a collection of petty criminals and outcasts brave it out in a harsh new environment, persevering through hunger and extreme punishments, they begin to establish a relationship with the local Aborigines and a settlement at Sydney Cove that will last.
