Shopgirl

Steve Martin stars in and adapted the screenplay from his own novella about shopgirl Mirabelle (Claire Danes); she's depressed, underpaid, in debt and looking for love when she meets aspiring musician Jason Schwartzman who falls for her straight away. Mirabelle's mixed feelings are not helped by the wealthy and debonair Steve Martin turning up and sweeping her off her feet. She will have to choose, but is either of them worthy of her? A stylish and bittersweet romantic comedy/drama.
