Ghost World
For sardonic high schoolers and best buds Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson, the world around them is filled with living targets for their scorn and amusement. But when graduation leads to a stormy entry into adult life and Birch becomes obsessed with the target of one of their pranks, nebbishy jazz record collector Steve Buscemi, the girls' friendship and their lives are changed. Based on the underground comic series by Daniel Clowes, director Terry Zwigoff's ("Crumb") bleak and biting serio-comedy also stars Brad Renfro and Illeana Douglas.
