Munich
Following the horrific events of the 1972 Munich Olympics in which 11 Israeli athletes were killed (along with their Palestinian captors), Israel's elite Secret Service, Mossad, sent out a team to assassinate those responsible. Young idealist Avner (Eric Bana), assigned to the squad, is passionate about his cause but soon discovers the taste of revenge is not so sweet. Adapted from George Jonas' book, 'Vengeance: The True Story of an Israeli Counter Terrorist Team', Spielberg's film is a powerful historical thriller drawing sharp parallels with today's political climate of fear. With Geoffrey Rush and Daniel Craig.
