'Laura' director Otto Preminger reunited with stars Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney for this moody crime drama in which Andrews is a violent cop who accidentally kills a murder suspect while interrogating him. An innocent taxi driver is blamed for the crime but Andrews must wrestle with his own guilt, especially when he falls for the cabbie's beautiful daughter (Tierney). With Gary Merrill, Bert Freed, Tom Tully, Ruth Donnelly, and Karl Malden.
