Out of Time

An atmospheric modern "film noir" with Denzel Washington as a police chief in a small Florida town who is romantically involved with Sanaa Lathan, a woman married to abusive husband Dean Cain. When Lathan needs money to pay for experimental cancer treatments, Washington steals $500,000 in drug loot held by his department. But after a mysterious fire kills Lathan and Cain, Washington becomes the prime suspect in their deaths - and faces homicide detective Eva Mendes, his soon-to-be ex-wife, in the investigation.
