Inspector Clouseau

When Peter Sellers refused to play Clouseau for a third time, Alan Arkin stepped up to the plate - not his best career move, though a bold one. Patrick Cargill plays an uptight Scotland Yard inspector who needs help on a string of Swiss bank robberies and instead gets Clouseau. To confuse matters the robbers take to wearing Clouseau masks on the job. In fact Arkin played all these roles too with the other actors dubbing their voices over his. An interesting oddity in the 'Pink' series, largely forgotten when Sellers reprised his famous role in 1975 for 'Return of the Pink Panther'.
