The Ice Harvest

Adapted from Scott Philip's novel this noirish crime comedy pairs Billy Bob Thornton as Vic, a low-level mobster, with John Cusack as Charlie, the bent lawyer who keeps the boss (Randy Quaid) out of trouble. But since they stole $2 million from him, they're on the run and laying low isn't as easy as it sounds. Charlie's penchant for booze and vampy dancer Connie Nielsen could be their undoing, or maybe Charlie's even more boozy friend, played by the always scene-stealing Oliver Platt. Not without its flaws, but an entertaining, blackly comic thriller.
