Dr Finlay: Series 1

Based on the characters in AJ Cronin's novel, Dr Finlay (David Rintoul) returns to his Scottish hometown after a stint in the Royal Army Medical Corps during WW2, only to find things have changed. His girlfriend has shacked up with a GI who wants to take her back to the States, his housekeeper is getting married and moving out, and his practise is about to become part of the new NHS. A five-star adaptation with excellent writing and convincing performances.
