The Monkey King
This mini-series adaptation of the classic Chinese tale 'Journey to the West' stars Thomas Gibson as an American journalist, Nick Orton, who must become a warrior to save a goddess and find a lost manuscript. Accompanied by a curious collection of mythical creatures, including the Monkey King (Russell Wong), a piglike human and a former cannibal, Nick finds himself fighting evil and sorcery at every turn, secure in the knowledge that he will win the love of the Goddess of Mercy, if he successfully completes his mission.
