American Dreamz

This slightly ham-fisted satire on reality shows like 'American Idol' stars Dennis Quaid as a US President who has just read a newspaper and, on finding out what a mess the world is in, is quietly having a nervous breakdown. To get him back on track his chief of staff (Willem Dafoe) books him as a guest judge on ratings juggernaut 'American Dreamz'. Hugh Grant is the self-loathing TV host and Mandy Moore is a hopeful contestant on the show where dreams can come true.
