Look Back In Anger

Richard Burton is perfectly cast as angry young Brit Jimmy Porter, in this scathingly realistic look at British life in the 1950s. Bristling with heated dialogue, the story reflects the first signs of post-war disenchantment and the social inertia of life in a dying Empire. An electrifying adaptation of John Osbourne's influential play it was directed by Tony Richardson who was nominated for a BAFTA, as was his leading man and the screenplay.
