Arms and the Man / The Man of Destiny

First produced for the stage in 1894, 'Arms and the Man' established Shaw's reputation as one of London's great wits. Helena Bonham Carter is Raina, a romantically-inclined young Belgian girl who has her rose-tinted dreams shattered by the arrival of a Swiss soldier of fortune. A charmingly ludicrous look at the misconceptions of love and war. Also included here is Simon Callow in the BBC production of Shaw's 'The Man of Destiny'.
