Pygmalion / Androcles and the Lion

Perhaps Shaw's most well-known play, 'Pygmalion' stars Lynn Redgrave in the Eliza Doolittle role being taught her Ps & Qs by professor Henry Higgins. Shaw himself wrote the screenplay for the 1938 version, becoming the first and only person to have won an Oscar and Nobel Prize for Literature. This disc also features a bonus play, 'Androcles and the Lion' starring Billy Connolly as the Christian heretic about to be thrown to the lions in ancient Rome.
