The Charles Bukowski Tapes

During the years filmmaker Barbet Schroeder spent making the 1987 film 'Barfly', his evenings were often spent in (frequently inebriated) discussions with the film's screenwriter, the legendary novelist/poet Charles Bukowski. This revelatory program presents the footage from the nights those conversations were captured on camera, edited here into 52 short segments, providing a kaleidoscopic journey through the labyrinth of Bukowski's outsized personality.
