Barfly

Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway are superb in this film, based on Charles Bukowski's writings, which offers insight into the world of the alcoholic, where all that matters is the next drink. Rourke is the gifted back-alley poet who's not afraid to defend his honour or freedom, but whose lust for life has given him a unique sense of love and romance. Faye Dunaway is the woman who's seen the darkest side of life and finds a rebirth through her new-found bar-room bard.
