'Sharpe's Rifles' - Portugal 1809, the Peninsular War in the age of Napoleon. A British sergeant (Sean Bean) in the 95th Rifles saves the life of Arthur Wellesley, and finds himself promoted to Lieutenant, in charge of a company of Rifles that do not respect him, and with a dangerous and vital mission. 'Sharpe's Eagle' - Sharpe is saddled with the South Essex, a battalion run by incompetents and filled with untested soldiers. When they lose their regimental flag, Sharpe vows to save their honour by capturing a French Imperial standard. Co-stars Brian Cox; based on the best-selling novels by Bernard Cornwell.
