A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

Writer/director Dito Montiel unflinchingly lays bare the story of his life, and in particular his youth, in the rough New York suburb of Astoria. Robert Downey Jr is the grown up Dito, a successful writer in LA, summoned back to his hometown by his mother (Dianne Wiest), when his father (Chazz Palminteri) becomes ill. Back in his old stomping ground the memories come flooding back in the form of flashbacks, revealing the harsh realities of life on the mean streets and the fates of many of his friends. Emotionally gripping with an outstanding cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Shia LeBouf as the young Dito and Channing Tatum as his loose cannon best friend.
