When 'Kidulthood' was released in 2006, it caused a minor stir for its dark depiction of teenagers in contemporary Britain. Now that film's screenwriter and star, Noel Clarke, steps up to the challenge of directing for this sequel that finds his character struggling to stop the cycle of violence that nearly destroyed his life. The film is set six years on, and like its predecessor, follows the action on one eventful day. An indie hit in its native Britain, most particularly amongst under-18s, this is a frenetically-paced and gritty depiction of urban youth meeting social conscience.
