The Good Life
In small-town Nebraska, if you don't like football, you're persona non grata, so Jason Prayer (Mark Webber) isn't exactly Mr Popular. He escapes into old movies, but when he meets a mysterious new friend (Zooey Deschanel), she helps him feel OK in a place where he's never really fitted in. This feature debut from Steve Berra is a quirky, humour-tinged drama that has drawn comparison with 'Donnie Darko'; Bill Paxton executive produced and co-stars along with Harry Dean Stanton, Chris Klein, Patrick Fugit and Drea De Matteo. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes.
