Director Thom Fitzgerald takes a sobering look into the worldwide AIDS epidemic, from a rural farming village in China to the sets of Canadian porn films to tribal communities in South Africa. Attracting big names such as Stockard Channing, Lucy Liu, Olympia Dukakis, Sandra Oh and Chloe Sevigny, this three-panelled story is hugely ambitious, and at times over-reaches itself, but stunning cinematography and, for the most part, gripping, socially relevant storylines overcome its shortfalls. Just be prepared for gut-wrenching tragedy on a global scale.
