David Gulpilil was the first Aboriginal Australian to appear as an actor in a film, Nicholas Roeg's 'Walkabout' in 1971, and since then he has become internationally famous with roles in films as diverse as 'Crocodile Dundee', 'The Last Wave' with Richard Chamberlain, 'Rabbit-Proof Fence' and Rolf de Heer's 'The Tracker'. However, despite his fame, he continues to live simply in the remote areas of Arnhem Land where he is now a respected tribal elder. Often his two worlds have collided, causing him pain and loss, and this insightful documentary tracks the highs and lows of Gulpilil's incredible, and revolutionary, life.
