The Laramie Project

Playwright/director Moises Kaufman adapts his acclaimed off-Broadway production for the small screen in this powerful docudrama. Set in the Wyoming town thrust into the national spotlight over the 1998 beating and murder of 21-year-old gay resident Matthew Shepard, the film mixes portrayals of the residents of Laramie and their very mixed reactions to the crime with scenes of Kaufman and his theater company coming to interview them.
